Dunham's history: from Vermont to today

1885Brothers George and Charles Dunham open a shoe store in Brattleboro, Vermont, selling handcrafted boots to people working outdoors in New England.

1998After the Dunham family sells the business in the 1990s, New Balance acquires the Dunham brand to move into men's casual footwear.

2015New Balance's parent company and Berkshire Partners buy Rockport and combine it with Drydock Footwear, which held Dunham since 2011. The result is The Rockport Group, with Dunham in its lineup.

TodayDunham is sold through Rockport's website and describes itself as having 130+ years of experience. It still focuses on men's boots and shoes, with extended widths.
